The Low Down on Buying Celine Tickets In The US |
So, you've been waiting a whole year for Celine to finally have a concert in your area. You are overwhelmed with excitement! What will I wear? How much money should I bring? How early should I get to the concert? ............ And then reality sets in.... I don't even have the tickets yet! Where do I get the tickets from? How much will they be? How can I get a backstage pass? How fast will the tickets sell out? RELAX! Here's some answers: 1. Most of the time (99%) only Ticketmaster and the venue are authorized to sell tickets to Celine Dion Concerts. Sometimes even the venue isn't permitted to sell tickets. You can find out what day the tickets are going onsale by visiting this website or listening to your local top 40 station. There are 3 ways to buy the tickets from Ticketmaster: -Online- Probably the quickest and easiest way to buy tickets. You simply go to www.ticketmaster.com and tell them how much you want to pay and where you want to sit, and they will show you what's available at that given moment. The only downside of this is that Ticketmaster's server often goes down, which means that you can NOT buy tickets. -On the Phone- Probably the worst way of the three to get tickets. Usually you will get just get busy signals and never even get through to get tickets. Or, if you do get through, you will end up being on hold for quite sometime. I do not suggest this method. -By going to an authorized ticketmaster in person- (make sure to call the location before time and make sure that they will be selling the tickets. Also see if they will be opening early to sell them). This is a pretty good choice for getting tickets. You need to be up super early to wait at the ticketmaster to get t hem. I suggest 2-3 hours early. If you go when the store opens, you will never get seats. Usually ticketmaster locations do not have the "best of the best" seats. But, you can do ok. NOTE: Ticketmaster adds approx. 20% to the price of a ticket. (As a service and facility charge) I DO NOT recommend buying tickets from a ticket "outlet/agent." The prices will be HUGELY inflated and the seats may not be what you bargained for 2. Ticket Prices: Usually (but not always) there are 3 different seat pricings. High priced- the orchestra seats, middle priced- the mezzanines, low priced- the nose bleeds. They range in price from $35-$100. 3. How fast do tickets sell out? FAST! Usually Celine tickets sell out within the first hour, if the concert has been well publicized. 4. How do I get a backstage pass? I wish you luck! Radio Stations, Special Promotions, and some organizations (like Celine Online or the official Fan Club) will get backstage passes to give to fans. It is not easy to get a backstage pass. |
What to Expect at the Concert |
Ok, you've followed the instructions and insight from The Ultimate Celine Site so now you are wondering what to expect once you get to the concert? How far in advance should you get to the concert venue? What souvenours should I expect? How much money should I bring? How long will Celine sing? Will there be an opening act? Chill out! Here's some answers! 1. Arriving Before the Show- It is not necessary to get to a Celine concert hours before the show. However, I also do not recommend getting there last minute either. Getting there 45 minutes early would definitely be good. Plenty of time to park, buy souveniours before the mad rush begins, find your seats, and relax. 2. Souveniours- Tshirts, posters, candy, puzzles, stuffed animals, hats, tour books, keychains, postcards, and posters are usually offered at most concerts. Tour books usually run for about $35. It's large and jammed full of great photos and information. Tshirts usually run for about $25. Candy (which was offered on her LTAL tour) sold for about $10. Keychains went for about $5. A set of 5 postcards went for $10. All in all, if you are a pretty big fan I suggest bringing about $100. Adjust this accordingly. Not to mention that they will also be selling food at the concert (sometimes). At Celine's LTAL tour, they sold champagne with strawberries. A nice additive to a very sophisticated evening. 3. The Length of the Concert- An opening act will usually sing for about 45 min. to 1 hour. Celine herself will usually sing for an hour and a half. |
